On Monday 19th December, our u16.5 Boys squad travelled to the Mid Ulster Sports Arena in Cookstown in the Bearnageeha Cup, Ulster Quarter Final. The game which saw a number of our u14.5 squad earning there place in the squad due to good performances in the u14.5 final last week, finished a draw on a scoreline of 3-12 to 6-3.
St. John’s started the game slowly and found themselves 7 points down early on due to 2 early goals battled back bravely in the first half and at half time were only 2 points behind.
As the second half progressed, St. John’s found themselves in a winning position and were much the better team, but our opponents, Lagan College, kept finding a route to the back of the net.
A free-kick from Eoghan McCann levelled the game and the referee blew for full time. The game will go to a replay in January, details TBC.
