School Uniform

School Uniform is a visible statement of each pupil’s allegiance to this school community. Full uniform must therefore be worn at all times, and is a condition of each pupil’s daily admission to this school.

The regulations relating to the school uniform are detailed below. We ask for your fullest co-operation in ensuring that your child adheres to the uniform regulations.

The school feels it is very important for the pupils to follow the school rules concerning uniform and to be neat and tidy at all times.

All items of clothing and equipment should be marked with the pupil’s name.

Girls’ College Uniform:

  • Navy Blazer, bearing the school badge
  • Navy pleated skirt (2 pleats to the front and 2 pleats to the back) or navy trousers (no skirts with slits)
  • White Shirt Style Blouse (School Blouse);
  • Tie-Blue and white stripe (clip-on compulsory for all years)
  • All navy socks or navy tights
  • Navy anorak
  • Black shoes (no white soles)
  • Black hair bands & bobbles only

Boys’ College Uniform:

  • Navy Blazer, bearing the school badge
  • Navy trousers
  • White shirt
  • Tie-Blue and white stripe (clip-on compulsory for all years)
  • All navy/black socks
  • Navy anorak
  • Black shoes (no white soles)
  • Please do not wear:
  • Shoes with nails/steel plates on heels or soles
  • Shoes with white soles
  • Fashion boots are NOT permitted
  • Shoes with black synthetic-type soles or heels which leave a mark when trailed along tiles

PE Uniform

From now on, our PE Uniform has changed. We have teamed up with MFC Sports and they have designed a new range of gear. The gear, pictured above, consists of a jumper, half-zip hoodie, half zip, jersey, puffer jacket and skinnys.

Uniform compulsory for Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 pupils)

  • St. John’s T-shirt/jersey
  • Navy shorts
  • Slippers
  • Towel
  • Tracksuit (optional)
  • Hoody (optional) 

A school hoody may not be used as an alternative to the school blazer.

No other colour of overcoat/anorak/fleece is acceptable

Some families may be entitled to assistance in providing the above uniform. The relevant application forms are available from the school office.

Where can school Uniform be purchased?

College Uniform items are available from Wattersons Brothers, High Street, Omagh.
P.E. Uniforms are available directly from the school.

Hair – No dyed hair (red, pink, blue etc) is permitted.

Jewellery – We do not permit the wearing of earrings in the school. (Department of Education Regulations) The pupil may keep a stud in the ear. Other forms of facial jewellery and body piercing are not permitted. For safety reasons finger rings and chains are not permitted.

Any items which do not comply with the requirements indicated above will be confiscated (pupils may collect them from the school office on a Friday at 3.30pm). If there is a second offence, parents/carers or another designated adult will be asked to collect the items from the school office.
