Pupils competed in this years E-District at MUSA Cookstown. It was a wonderful experience for our pupils to compete against some of the top athletes in Ultser. They all performed really well and had an enjoyable experience.

Calendar:

January

St. Mary’s Irvinestown run a Cross Country event for schools in the local area. This is usually run during January.

E District – the schools within the district of Tyrone, Fermanagh, Monaghan, Cavan, Donegal compete in both individual and team races in an attempt to gain qualification to the Ulster schools final.

Feb/March

Ulster schools cross country finals – held annually each February at Mallusk playing fields, the top 12 athletes and the top three teams from each of the five districts compete against each other.

March

All Ireland schools final – hosted annually each March by one of the four provinces.  The top 12 individual athletes from each provincial final including the top three teams per province are competing at this event.

Year 9 – MINOR: 100m, 800m, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot, 4 x 100m relay.

Year 10 – JUNIOR: 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, 80m Hurdles, 1500m Walk, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump,Pole Vault, Shot, Discus, Javelin, Hammer, 4 x 100m relay.

Year 11/12 – INTERMEDIATE: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 100m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, 1500m Steeplechase, 2000m Walk, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Shot, Discus, Javelin, Hammer, 4 x 100m relay.

Year 13/14 – SENIOR: 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m, 110m Hurdles, 400m Hurdles, 2000m Steeplechase, 3000m Walk, High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Shot, Discus, Javelin, Hammer, 4 x 100m relay.

Ulster Schools Track & Field finals. Top 3 in each of the five districts qualify. Top 2 relay teams per district.

June

All Ireland schools Track & Field finals.  Top 3 from each province qualify.
